Pakistani guitarist, composer and a founding member of Strings, Bilal Maqsood, has paid a befitting tribute to one of the pioneers of pop music in Pakistan, Alamgir, by singing his popular song, Albela Rahi in an event.
Bilal Maqsood paid a tribute to Alamgir during an event of the National Academy of Performing Arts (Napa) on Monday evening.

Maqsood shared the mesmerising video of his performance on Instagram, saying, “It was such an honor for me to pay a humble tribute to my idol, our pop icon Alamgir!!
“Sharing stage with you and singing with you was a dream come true! Thank you @napa.karachi for organizing this event. Junaid Zuberi well done!”
Amidst the song, Bilal Maqsood invited Alamgir to the stage and requested him to continue singing with him which he accepted.
Alamgir Haq known as just Alamgir is a Pakistani singer-songwriter, guitarist, and one of the pioneers of pop music in Pakistan. Alamgir is also known as the Baba-e-Pop [Father of pop music] in Pakistan.
He is popularly known as Baba-e-Pop which translates to “Founder of Pop” music in Pakistan. His style of singing is inspired by playback singer Ahmed Rushdi and 20th century American singer Elvis Presley.
