Working in showbiz was like running in hamster wheel: Nargis Fakhri
In an interview with News18, Nargis Fakhri explained her point of view about taking a break from the showbiz industry.
Bollywood actor Nargis Fakhri expressed her view about being disappeared from cinemas for a long time and termed showbiz a place where people are like running in a hamster wheel or taking part in a rat race.
In an interview with News18, Nargis Fakhri explained her point of view about taking a break from the showbiz industry.
She said, “I think that I was very blessed to have the opportunity to have such an amazing debut in Bollywood as a person who knew nothing about the cinema. I didn’t know anything even though my roots are part from there but I wasn’t raised with that. I worked so hard for so many years.”
“I think, I stayed about 7 to 8 years and I didn’t really have that time for myself. If you are in the industry it never ends and in a way that earlier out of sight, out of mind, you are sort of running in this hamster wheel or rat race,” she added.

Fakhri said, “You are trying to keep up because you know you don’t wanna fall back. So you have to have meetings, you have to do shoots, you are doing at and doing that, it is never ending like you get a couple of days off and that’s it. And, to be honest, this type of work and the pressure I guess, so the mental stress you go through even when you are in the character, you are infesting your soul in the acting.”
“So, I think the people need more than a few days’ break to be honest because you want to get in touch with yourself again. And for me, it was too much mental and physical stress. I had a lot of physical ailments that were interfering with daily life. It was difficult to ignore these problems and keep working. In a way, my body was telling me that I can’t do this and seek a break.”
“My mind was telling me to take a break because I wasn’t the happiest person. But I was doing it because everyone comes to you to do things and we don’t always have even days as we have to work with different kinds of people in the industry and not all days and weeks are happier. My mind and body are disconnected and I really need to rest.”
“If you have a good family then they will ground you and recharge you, otherwise, you will be like looping in the wind.” She suggested that everyone should try this once in their lives.
