Major General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry, Chief of Pakistan Army’s Public Relations Department (ISPR) has said that all political parties are respectable to us, Pakistan’s army is a national army, we are not attracted to any particular political party or ideology.
In his first press conference yesterday, Major General Ahmed Sharif has said that everyone has right to his opinion and analysis, army chief reiterated that people are axis of real power.
Major General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry said that relationship between army and the government is non-political and constitutional, it is wrong to give political color to this relationship.
On question regarding ongoing criticism on social media, he said that Constitution of Pakistan gives every citizen right to freedom of opinion, same constitution also makes right to freedom of opinion binding on law, what is being said against Pakistan Army is unconstitutional. Yes, people will not want the army to get involved in useless debates, they value constructive criticism, no one wants the army to represent a particular thought, they can make the law work without taking the law into their hands.

He said that veterans are an asset of Pakistan Army, Air Force, and Navy, they recognize the sacrifices of veterans, the purpose of veterans organization is to highlight the welfare and problems of their people, veteran organizations should not wear a political cloak, in the world. If an army is used for a particular political thought, chaos will spread. The political leadership should strengthen our professional thinking. It is wrong to give a political color to a non-political relationship.
He said that the deployment of Pakistan’s forces for the election is done by the federal government, the Ministry of Defense has given a briefing on the election deployment which is based on the ground realities, it is not in the interest of the forces, the nation, and the country to involve the army in politics, the chief said.
