Former Army Chief’s statement was wrongly quoted, Pakistan Army is always ready to defend country, ISPR

Public Relations Department of Pakistan Army (ISPR) has expressed its reaction to comments made on statement of former Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa regarding war preparations.

ISPR has said that former Army Chief’s statement regarding future threats to Pakistan was presented out of context, Pakistan Army is always ready and will remain ready to defend homeland.

In a statement issued by Public Relations Department of Pakistan Army, it is said that recently there has been a discussion in media about war preparations of Pakistan Army, subject of which is situation of some weapons in reserves of armed forces.

ISPR says that in this regard, former army chief had presented his views about future threats to Pakistan in an off-the-record conversation with media representatives, which has been quoted out of context.

“The Army assures people of Pakistan that we have always prided ourselves on our operational readiness and extreme combat capability,” ISPR said.

Statement added that Pakistan Armed Forces have always and will always keep their manpower ready with weapons and war equipment for defense of motherland.
