Swat: A large number of people on Tuesday protested on the streets of Mingora against the blasts that took place inside the Kabal police station on Monday evening. 16 people were killed and around 70 were injured in the blast.
The police ruled out the possibility of terrorism in the blasts, claiming that they took place in the ammunition store of an old office of the counter-terrorism department inside the police station.
Contrary to the claims of the police, the residents of the area insist that the explosions were not caused by ammunition stored in the store, but by terrorists.
Residents of the area condemned the incident and staged protests in the markets and streets of Kabal and Mingora.
Swat Olsi Pisun organized a rally at Kabal Bazar while Swat Qaumi Jirga staged a protest at Nishat Chowk Mingora.
Despite the denial of the police, the protesters said that terrorists are behind the incident.

A large number of people from across Swat participated in the protest, demanding lasting peace in their areas and in other Pakhtun areas.
He said that the people of Malakand division will no longer be deceived in the name of terrorist dramas. Speakers said Pakhtuns did not believe the police’s claim that the explosion was caused by a short circuit at the arms store.
The leaders insisted that if the facts on the ground come to light, it will be clear that the incident was a planned act of terrorism.
Speakers said that Pakhtuns will no longer tolerate terrorism on their soil as they believe that terrorist activities in the country have always been carried out for US dollars.
He said that Pakhtuns are against terrorism and “fake contests for US dollars”. The speakers said that Pakhtuns are peaceful and will not allow terrorists or militants on their land.
He said that in 2007, vested interests created a false impression about Pakhtuns that they are terrorists and support terrorism.
Speakers said that Pakhtuns strongly denied this impression, but few agreed with them at the time.
He said that the Pakhtuns declared that they will not allow any terrorist to use their land to implement their agenda.
The speakers said that if anyone tried to bring the terrorists back to Malakand division, the residents, especially the residents of Swat, would thwart any such attempt.
He demanded that an independent and transparent inquiry should be conducted to find out the truth about the explosions in Kabul police station so that the facts come out.
It should be remembered that in October last year, thousands of people blocked the Swat road in protest against the attack on the school van. The protest continued for about 40 hours.
