State to protect Pakistan’s ‘digital frontiers’: Gen Munir
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir addressed the business community in Karachi, expressing unwavering confidence in Pakistan’s bright and stable future.
He contrasted the prevailing pessimism of a year ago with the current positive economic indicators, stating that all economic indices are now positive and are expected to improve further by next year.
General Munir directly challenged those who previously spread despair and predicted default, questioning their accountability. He emphasized national unity and prioritization of Pakistan’s interests above all else, including personal gain.
Drawing a parallel to a mother’s role, he underscored the importance of cherishing the state, urging citizens to learn from the experiences of nations like Libya, Iraq, and Palestine. He stressed that Pakistan is their sole identity and that collective effort can overcome any challenge.
The COAS encouraged investment in Pakistan, emphasizing that economic stability can only be achieved through internal efforts, rejecting the notion of foreign bailouts. He also highlighted the link between terrorism and illegal businesses, suggesting the involvement of specific elements. Finally, he underscored the state’s responsibility to protect Pakistan’s digital borders and ensure the digital security of its citizens.
