Christian Turner & Shaniera Irked With Littering in Islamabad
The post by Christian Turner didn’t go unnoticed and former cricketer Wasim Akram’s wife and social activist Shaniera Akram commented on it
British High Commissioner to Pakistan Christian Turner often shares eye-catching sites of Pakistan on his social media handle but this time, the diplomat called attention to littering on Margalla Hills in the federal capital Islamabad.
He was of the view that meals should be shared and littering beautiful places in Pakistan is a goof.
“Two bags of rubbish collected on Margallas, please help keep beautiful Islamabad clean”, he wrote.
The post by Christian Turner didn’t go unnoticed and former cricketer Wasim Akram’s wife and social activist Shaniera Akram commented on it.

It is not the first time, that Shaniera raised her voice for a social dilemma.
Earlier, she has called out food outlets to resort using biodegradable utensils and paraphernalia instead of non-degradable ones.
Food giants in Pakistan need to take responsibility by recycling their own cans, drink bottles, chip packets & food containers they sell us! The best marketing tool today, is the promise of a better tomorrow. You want us to buy your product then start impressing us the right way!

Apart from this, Shaniera once urged Karachiites to avoid littering the beaches.
It’s not just the beach, there is garbage everywhere. It’s on our street corners, our lanes, outside our shops, in front of our offices, next to our schools, dumped on vacant land, outside our homes, on our only beach and its in our ocean. We are literally swimming in it !
