The coronavirus vaccine was scheduled to be available around mid-January this year in Pakistan but now it seems that there is a delay in the process

According to the Health Minister of Sindh Dr Azra Pechuho, the federal government has informed that it will take more time for the coronavirus vaccine to arrive in Pakistan.

Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho said that the coronavirus vaccine was scheduled to be available around mid-January this year in Pakistan, but now it seems that there is a delay in the process.

Health minister said that the Sindh government had made relevant arrangements for the vaccination.

In the first phase, the coronavirus vaccine would have to be rolled out in Karachi and Hyderabad and then in every division of Sindh. A vaccine network would be set up in each district.

According to Dr Azra, public and private frontline workers in Pakistan will be vaccinated in the first phase as per global practice.

Regarding vaccination management, she said that the health department will set up a vaccine management system which would also be used for keeping a track of available vaccines.

Under this system, awareness about the use and availability of vaccines will be made public.

Training will also be provided regarding the disposal of used material and other necessary safety measures after vaccination.

It should be noted that trials of the Chinese-made vaccines are currently underway in Pakistan.

After the completion of the trials, the Chinese vaccine will be available to the general public in the country.

Locally manufactured vaccines have been approved globally as well as in neighboring India, where the vaccine is extremely cheap prices.
