Expert Points Out Pakistan is a ‘Sitting Duck’ For Covid-19
As reported until today, Pakistan has recorded some 18,310 coronavirus-related fatalities while there are over 86,000 active cases in the country
A Pakistani-origin US-based infectious diseases expert says Pakistan is a sitting duck for covid-19 and could slip in a deteriorating situation in the upcoming days.
Managing Director (MD) at University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health (UMUCH) Faheem Younus took to his Twitter handle to enlist multiple factors that could add insult to the injury to the covid-19 crisis in Pakistan.
He presumed a grim situation on multiple factors that add insult to the covid-19 crisis in Pakistan including the percentage of vaccinated population and those hesitant to get the vaccine besides those susceptible to the pathogen.

On May 4, out of 37,587 people tested for covid-19 across Pakistan, some 3,377 people returned positive along with 161 deaths.
As reported until today, Pakistan has recorded some 18,310 coronavirus-related fatalities while there are over 86,000 active cases in the country.
Under a simmering crisis, Pakistan’s testing capacity has dipped in May as compared to April when nearly 60,000 covid-19 tests were being conducted daily.
