Differently-abled lawyer-activist Sana Khurshid urged the government to prioritize disabled people in the vaccination process as PM’s Special Assistant on Health Dr Faisal Sultan announced that senior citizens will be vaccinated in Pakistan after frontline healthcare workers.
Sultan tweeted that the next phase for vaccines will begin on March 10 for senior citizens.

In reply to his tweet, Khurshid added that people with disabilities, especially those who have a compromised respiratory function or a suppressed immune system, must be prioritized too.

In an Instagram post, Sana wrote that people with any kind of disability are more vulnerable and high on risk due to their compromised immune systems.
The lawyer further added that as a differently-abled person herself, last year was very tough for her to survive as the coronavirus spread rapidly.
In an interview with The Society hosted by Barrister Fatima Shaheen, the lawyer explained why people with disabilities should be given preference over elderly people.
