Nearly 50% people in Pakistan prefer the Chinese vaccine over those produced by other countries, reported Institute for Public Opinion Research (IPOR) after conducting a survey in wake of the third covid-19 wave.
Amid the third coronavirus wave in country, the government is forcing the population for inoculation but the slipshod population has remained reluctant for it.
IPOR conducted a series of polls to present the last public perception about covid-19 vaccination in Pakistan.
The survey report that was based on the opinions of 1,046 respondents who were interviewed from April 28 to May 7, 2021, revealed the behavior of the Pakistani population towards vaccine inoculation and their trust in strategies by the government to tackle the crisis.

The key findings of the survey revealed that around 69% of the respondents were of the view that coronavirus cases are ragging in the country and the situation is worsening day by day.

“31% of the respondents said someone in their social circle have been vaccinated”, the report disclosed.
The report also maintained that nearly half of survey participants in Pakistan showed confidence over the Chinese vaccine.
They were of the view that the jabs coming from China have more efficacy than the drugs coming from other countries.
When asked about the information regarding covid-19 on social media, it turned out that nearly 53% of the respondents do not trust social media news.
On the other hand, the report maintained that more people are dissatisfied with the government and its strategies to handle the coronavirus situation in the country.
“There is a decrease of massive 16% in the approval rating of PM from 56% to 42% regarding the handling of coronavirus situation in the country”, IPOR said.
Not only this, a majority of 65% of the people rated either bad or very bad performance by Prime Minister Imran Khan at more than half the time of his tenure.
