The threat of covid-19 spread in Karachi amid prowling Delta variant has soared as the violations of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at the vaccination centers are underway.

The provincial government has hinted at subjecting inoculation to the continuation of various services including cellular SIM, local travel, etc.

Therefore, the vaccination centers in Karachi are experiencing a high influx of unvaccinated masses and violations have become common.

Alarmingly, the fourth wave of coronavirus is strengthening in the metropolis and the test to positivity ratio in the city has surged to over 25%.

The federal and provincial governments have urged the masses to get vaccinated, citing it as the only possible way to get rid of the virus.

As large crowds are pouring in, the SOPs are not being taken into account by vaccine-seekers and defiance is underway at different immunization facilities including Civil Hospital, Expo Center, etc.

The people waiting in the queues were observed disregarding social distancing protocols and while others broke the lines.

Scenes of mild protests were also seen in different centers when some people were allowed to bypass queuers to get vaccinated errantly.

However, News360 correspondent witnessed better arrangements at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC).

The management of the healthcare facility ensured enforcement of precautionary guidelines while there were separate counters for disabled citizens.
