Karachi’s Expo Center Develops Deficiency of Covid Vaccines
The biggest mass vaccination facility in the country is facing a shortage of Chinese vaccines and they are only available for first-dose seekers
Karachi’s expo center, the biggest vaccination facility in Pakistan, is facing a severe shortfall of covid vaccines it was offering particularly Chinese ones and left only with AstraZeneca shots. Karachi-based journalist Wajid Raza Isfahani shared a post on Facebook to narrate his personal experience.
He wrote that he went to Karachi’s expo center with his family for getting covid-19 vaccine jab.
After spending hours waiting for the turn in the queue outside, he finally reached inside the center’s hall for registration.
Upon his turn, Wajid Raza learned that Karachi’s expo center was facing a shortfall of Chinese covid vaccines including Sinovac and Sinopharm for people who were willing to get their first shots.

The staff at the expo center told the remaining vials of Chinese vaccines were reserved for those who had received first shots and for people aged over 40 years.
The CanSino vaccine is not available at the facility too, a pasted notice said.

The Karachi-based journalist was offered to get himself inoculated with AstraZeneca as he met the age criteria.
Therefore, he advised the locals of the metropolis aged below 40 years to not visit the biggest mass vaccination center of the country for their first dose because they would not be entertained.
However, Wajid Raza hailed the arrangements at the immunization facility and said that the influx of locals proved that the people were preferring to get themselves vaccinated at the expo center.
