Health Sector of Pakistan Relishes Low Covid-19 & Polio

Pakistan is relishing glad tidings from the health sector that include a decline in covid-19 after months and polio cases after years.

As per data issued by NCOC, the coronavirus positivity rate dropped to 4% in the last 24 hours which is the lowest after July 13, 2021.

Not only this, the newly reported cases reached the lowest of 2,167 after July 23, 2021.

Meanwhile, the death toll reached 40 which is the lowest after July 26, 2021.

As reported by Geo, Pakistan has administered at least 72,986,511 doses of vaccines so far.

On the other hand, Pakistan is on the list of countries fighting with poliovirus and has finally made substantial progress towards eradication.

The country has only one wild poliovirus case reported this year until now while a total of 84 polio cases surfaced last year.

The nationwide polio campaign has been kicked off to vaccinate over 40 million children under 5 years of age.

As per details, more than 290,000 polio workers will work to vaccinate the children.

The virus has been eradicated from all states of the world except Pakistan and Afghanistan, however, experts are expecting a total swipe of the virus from the country very soon.
