Amid ragging coronavirus cases in Pakistan, the country’s largest covid-19 vaccination center has been inaugurated in Karachi by Sindh Health Minister Azra Pechuho.
The mass vaccination center was inaugurated at Expo Center Karachi in the presence of National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) officials along with officials of Sindh health department including Qasim Siraj Soomro and Kazim Jatoi.
The mass vaccination center will operate round the clock with 12 registration counters, six blocks, and 96 cubicles where staff will work in three shifts.
The center has a capacity to inoculate 25,000-30,00 patients in a day and nearly 360 healthcare workers will provide their services in each shift.
On the occasion, Azra Pechuho said that the government was striving hard to increase its capacity and establishing more vaccination centers in the province.

“We have been in talks with the federation. Sindh is ready to pay and buy vaccines at fixed prices”.
She was of the view that the government wanted to vaccinate the citizens as much as possible on an emergency basis.
While talking about the types of vaccines, she told the province will inoculate its citizens with AstraZeneca, Sinopharm and CanSino vaccines.
“People who are facing difficulties in the registration process can visit the center for administration of the jab”.
Azra Pechuho opined that vaccine was the only way to defeat the deadly virus and warned that flagrant violation of SOPs could lead to an outbreak.
On the other hand, NCOC has announced to arrange 70 million vaccine doses by the end of this year.
