Patients Continue to Break Free Quarantine in Karachi
The health department has requested the government to beef up the security of all designated quarantine facilities
At least 23 coronavirus infected patients have broken free from quarantine centers in Karachi until now. The absconders include people who arrived from Dubai, Saudi Arabia, US, and European countries.
Sources said that most of the patients who arrived in Karachi and broke free quarantine were infected with the Delta variant.
In this regard, Sindh health department had written a letter to the home department on July 15.

It mentioned that Zain Kamran who had returned from Canada on July 6 escaped from the Airport Hotel quarantine on July 10.
However, sources told News360 that no action has been taken yet and there is no trace of where the absconding patients are.
In light of escaping incidents, the health department has requested the government to beef up the security of all designated quarantine facilities.
Further, the Sindh government has also issued a notification for beefing up the security of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and other public hospitals fearing violence.
The notification in this regard said that the death of a covid-19 patient could trigger a bedlam in the healthcare facility.
Therefore, the hospital management has been directed to ensure deployment of the police and paramilitary Rangers at the earliest.
Sources told News360 that the law enforcement forces would be deployed at all public hospitals in Karachi.
