People Will Likely Need Third Dose of Vaccine, Pfizer
Earlier this month, Pfizer reported that their vaccine was 91% effective at protecting against the pathogen
“People will ‘likely’ need a booster dose of covid-19 vaccine”, revealed Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla in a statement that was taped on April 1 but made public on Thursday.
He maintained that people will need a third dose of the Pfizer vaccine within 6-12 months after they are fully vaccinated.
CEO also opined that vaccinations for coronavirus could be needed every year.
“A likely scenario is that there will be likely a need for a third dose, somewhere between six and 12 months and then from there, there will be annual revaccination, but all of that needs to be confirmed. And again, the variants will play a key role”, he told.

Whereas, earlier this month, Pfizer reported that their vaccine was 91% effective at protecting against the pathogen. The company collected data of more than 12,000 vaccinated participants and the estimates were projected based on that study.
However, as per researchers, a more in-depth study is needed to determine that whether protection lasts after six months.
“We don’t know everything at this moment”, David Kessler, the Biden Administration’s COVID response chief science officer, reported.
