Sindh and Punjab Have Good News Concerning Health

A minor went under a successful heart surgery in Tando Muhammad Khan and Punjab launched Insaf Medicine Card

WEB DESK: Two good news came from Sindh and Punjab in the health sector as a minor’s heart operation went successful in Tando Adam, Sindh, while Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar launched Insaf Medicine Card for Hepatitis, TB, and Aids patients.

Both developments in Sindh and Punjab in the health sector occurred on weekends.

Usman Buzdar said that under Insaf Medicine Card, Hepatitis, AIDS, and TB patients would be provided free medicines.

In the first phase of this project, free medicines will be provided to 9,862 AIDS patients, 23,560 Hepatitis, and 70,047 TB patients.

A simple procedure has been adopted for the patients where their identity would be biometrically verified.

After verification, they would avail the facility at either Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) or District Headquarters (DHQs) hospitals.

On the other hand, a successful heart operation has been performed of a minor at NICVD in a Sindh’s small town Tando Adam.A minor child was rushed to the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD)  Tando Muhammad Khan owing to a cardiac condition.

The minor was immediately shifted to the operation theatre where doctors performed his minimally invasive heart surgery.

A NICVD spokesperson said that Pediatric Surgeon Saad Badar, Pediatric Cardiologist Dr Hussain Bakhsh and Anesthesiologist Dr Kamal performed the complex surgery.

He added that the minor’s heart was only 20 percent functional when he was brought to the hospital.

The operation went successful and he is under-recovery in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

NICVD Executive Director (ED) Professor Nadeem Qamar said that it was an achievement for the healthcare facility to perform such a complex surgery in a small city like Tando Muhammad Khan.

The official said that NICVD was providing the same facilities at the doorsteps for which the people had to travel abroad.
