Sloppy Attitude Towards Vaccination, NCOC Fears 4th Wave
As per data shared by NCOC, in the last 24 hours, 15 people have succumbed to the deadly virus and 1,808 patients have turned out positive.
Despite the ragging covid-19 cases in Pakistan, the frivolous citizens continue flouting the SOPs and are reluctant in taking the vaccination which the government fears can usher lockdowns.
As per data shared by National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), 15 people have succumbed to the deadly virus and 1,808 patients turned out positive in the last 24 hours.

In total, the number of people infected so far has exceeded 975,000 and the positivity ratio has mounted to 3.84% in the last few days.
While lifting lockdown from the cities, the overseeing body had urged the citizens to keep following NPIs but the incautious attitude may push the nation once again towards a lockdown to curb spread of delta variant of the virus.
On the other hand, a further 446,391 doses have reached covid-19 vaccination centers but the citizens are indisposed in taking the jabs. So far, only 20 million people have registered for the vaccine.
Federal Planning Minister and NCOC Head Asad Umar said the number of elderly in Pakistan is nearly 27.2 million out of that, only 5.6 million got themselves inoculated.
Pakistan has 2 crore 72 lakh people who are 50 years or older. This age group is most vulnerable to serious health effect of covid. So far 56 lakh or 20.6% of these have gotten at least 1 dose of vaccine. Please encourage all in this age group to vaccinate as soon as possible.

According to the head of the NCOC, the risk of coronary heart disease is higher in those aged 50 and over but only 20.6% of them have been vaccinated, which is a matter of concern.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan on National Health Services Dr Faisal Sultanalso warned that the delta variant of the virus has been spotted in the new cases.
