The addiction to the online video game Fortnite put a teenager in the hospital for 2 months for treatment.
According to a paper published in the Revista de Psiquiatría Infanto-Juvenil (Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry), a Spanish research team treated the 15-year-old patient.
The victim of the video game Fortnite required detoxification as he had developed a behavioral addition to the game.

After such symptoms, the research team decided to send the Fortnite addict teenager to a hospital for detoxification.
The researchers said video games themselves weren’t harmful and their proper use proves socially and educationally beneficial.
The parents have been advised to keep a check on the screen hours of their children and also encourage them to engage in different forms of entertainment.
According to the research paper, the researchers used a multidisciplinary strategy to treat the addicted victim including cognitive behavioral therapy.
Besides this, they also worked with the teenager and his family to help him understand the impact gaming was having on his life.
