Interestingly, Papa John’s has been very active on social media since its long-lived scandal involving Lt Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa.
Back in 2002, news broke on social media that Bajwa’s younger brothers opened a Papa John’s restaurant right after he got promotion as a lieutenant when General Pervez Musharraf was the army chief.
The reports claimed that Asim Bajwa, who started as a delivery driver for the pizza restaurant franchise, involved his brothers, wife, and sons in running a business empire consisting of 99 companies in four countries with a worth of an estimated $39.9 million.
Responding to rumors, Asim Saleem Bajwa had denied all allegations through his Twitter handle and decided to resign as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information and Broadcasting.
