Four-Day KP Youth Cooking Competition Culminates
Some 65 men and women from across the province took part in the competition to showcase culinary skills in cooking
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) attracted the youth by arranging a four-day cooking competition under the supervision of the Department of Tourism and Youth Affairs in which more than 65 men and women participated and showcased their cooking skills.
The competition was organized from March 16 to March 19 at Service Club Peshawar where participants, ranging in age from 14 to 29, were given an open ground to experiment with new dishes.
The chefs from several other districts including Peshawar, Swat, Malakand, Chitral, and Abbottabad partook in the event and impressed the judges by preparing mouthwatering dishes.
An audition was held to shortlist the candidates after which the competition was held among the top 20 chefs.
The list was narrowed down to five competitors who prepared tasty and well-presented meals to bag the first position.
The officials distributed certificates and cash prizes among the winners.
Youth Affairs Director Saleem Jan Marwat said that the purpose for organizing such events was to provide a platform to the youth where they could display their culinary skills by preparing meals of their choice.
Jan Marwat added that the government arranged various other recreational activities to entertain the people amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Further, the young participants praised KP government and said that such competitions served as an opportunity for them not only to improve their cooking skills but also to explore new and palatable cultural dishes of different areas.
