Mafia Fugitive Arrested Due to Tattoos Visible in Video

As per details shared by the local police, the fugitive had featured in YouTube videos where he explained Italian cooking recipes while keeping his face hidden

People around the globe get tattoos for self-expression and artistic freedom, however, an Italian mafia gang member was arrested in the Dominican Republic because of his tattoos.

As per sources, Marc Feren Claude Biart had been on the run from Italian authorities since 2014 and was living in Boca Chica on the Caribbean island.

According to details shared by the local police, the fugitive had featured in YouTube videos where he explained Italian cooking recipes while keeping his face hidden.

The police identified the mafia member in the cooking video as his tattoos were visible and arrested him.

“The alleged gangster’s “love for Italian cuisine” and tattoo ink made his arrest possible”, police said.

The alleged member of the ‘Ndrangheta crime gang’ was arrested in the Dominican Republic last Wednesday and has now been extradited to Italy, BBC reported.

Since 2014, he had been wanted for allegedly trafficking cocaine from the Netherlands.

The ‘Ndrangheta is considered one of the world’s most powerful organized crime groups because it controls most of the cocaine entering Europe. It is based in Calabria, the region that forms the tip of Italy’s “boot”, the report read.
