The doctors said that the man suffered a vertical penile fracture and his organ buckled. The fracture caused the phallus to swell.
Although the patient didn’t hear any ‘squeaky pop’ sound when it happened but the pain told another story.
According to BMJ, the first documented case of a vertical penile fracture was sustained by a 40-year-old man.
The injury is defined as, “a broken penis occurs when the protective layer around the erectile tissue, which pumps blood to the penis, is damaged due to unusual bending”.
The 40-year-old patient was relieved after finding out the fracture was treatable.
He underwent a surgery and able to resume sexual activities within six months, the journal said.
A study says that around 90% of penile fractures are caused during sexual intercourse with ‘doggy style’ and ‘woman on top’ positions.
