Senior journalist and Geo News anchorperson Hamid Mir claimed that the Toshakhana’s gift set included a wristwatch, pen and cufflinks worth $12 million. He claimed that Farhat Shehzadi alias Farah Gogi brought $12 million to Pakistan from Dubai. However, it is not that difficult to trace the smuggled money in Pakistan.

Hamid Mir claimed that Farah Gogi brought $12 million to Pakistan from Dubai via a plane after selling the expensive gifts of the Toshakhana given to former prime minister Imran Khan. He claimed that Shahzeb Khanzada exposed the truth on the basis of evidence and a witness.

Mir’s claims raised questions about how the money was brought to Pakistan so easily as there should be a bag used for storing the currency notes. The highest denomination of US paper currency is $100 then the currency notes should have occupied space like a bag. Moreover, the foreign currency would not be used immediately in Pakistan by her and she must have converted the US dollar into the Pakistani rupee.

Analysts said that it seems that the anchorpersons were given a target to propagate the wristwatch issue whether they choose to tell the truth or lie.

Analysts said that it is not difficult for the federal government to summon the officials of all money exchange companies to trace the suspects who had converted the smuggled USD into PKR. They added that the interrogation of the money exchange firms would definitely help the government to ascertain the facts.
