A devastating earthquake of magnitude 7.8 has occurred in Gaziantep province near the Syrian border in Turkey. A number of buildings collapsed and gas pipelines exploded in Zlarle, killing at least 100 people.
As a result of the earthquake, there are reports of widespread destruction in Turkey. Earthquake tremors were also felt in Syria, Lebanon, Iran and Iraq. Several buildings collapsed in the Syrian cities of Aleppo and Huma.

Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Agency AFAD said the earthquake had a magnitude of 7.4 and was centered in the town of Pazark in Kahramanmaras province.

According to Sanliurfa Governor Saleh Ihan, at least 12 deaths have been confirmed as a result of the earthquake. Jordan Yilmaz, the governor of the southern province of Osmania, told the American Broadcasting Agency that according to preliminary data, at least 34 buildings have been destroyed so far. And at least 5 people have died.

After the earthquake, natural gas pipelines exploded in Hata province, resulting in fires in fields. Terrible videos of the earthquake have also started appearing on social media.
According to Syrian state media, some buildings collapsed in the northern city of Aleppo and the central city of Hama as a result of the earthquake. In Damascus, buildings shook and many people took to the streets in fear.

According to the American media, the earthquake also shook the residents of Lebanon in their sleep, the buildings continued to shake for about 40 seconds. Many residents of Beirut fled their homes and took to the streets or got into their cars away from buildings, while tremors were also felt in Iran and Iraq.
