All corruption accused gave name of accused Ahad Cheema as caretaker chief minister of Punjab
According to Independent Urdu report, "At the end of the second term of Shehbaz Sharif's government, in February 2018, NAB arrested him from his government office and two cases were filed against him. One case is Ashiana Housing Society and the other one was related to assets in excess of income."
Fugitive and accused Nawaz Sharif, accused Asif Ali Zardari, accused Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and accused Hamza Shehbaz Sharif sent the name of accused Ahad Cheema for a caretaker chief minister to Governor Punjab Balighur Rehman.
According to the rules of law, three names for the caretaker chief minister were to be given by Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, while three names were to be given by the Leader of the Opposition Hamza Shehbaz Sharif.
Hamza Shahbaz Sharif the Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly sent two names to the Governor for caretaker Chief Minister. Among them, one name is senior journalist Mohsin Raza Naqvi, while the other name is former bureaucrat Ahad Cheema.

Former bureaucrat Ahad Cheema
Former bureaucrat Ahad Cheema originally belongs to Hafizabad district of Punjab, his father shifted to Lahore some time ago, and he started his professional life as a school teacher in Lahore.
In 2005, the then Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi appointed Ahad Cheema as the coordinator of the educational program ‘Parhalkha Punjab’ as an officer of the 18th scale.
In 2008, the then Chief Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif appointed Ahad Cheema as the Secretary Higher Education Commission while overseeing the 20 and 21-grade officers.
Shahbaz Sharif also appointed Ahad Cheema as the head of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) despite opposition from powerful quarters.
According to Independent Urdu report, “Ahad Cheema was given the post of Director General of LDA as well as Metro Bus, Orange Line Train, Land Record Computerization, Nandipur Power Project, Solar Energy Project, and Ashiana Housing Schemes”. He completed several projects ahead of schedule despite legal complications.”
