Andy Murray was on the pitch for more than three hours in hot conditions, but he, and not Alcaraz, proved to be the most resilient, both physically and mentally.

The Scot won a set to beat the 18-year-old who predicted he would be a future world number one at 5-7 6-3 6-2 in the second round of the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.

It was certainly a great result for the three-time Grand Slam winner who has held up well against top players in recent weeks without making it to the top.
