Asia Cup: India win toss, decide to bat first against Pakistan

Pakistan will bowl first as the Indian captain decided to bat after winning the toss in the high-intensity match of the Asia Cup 2023 at Pallekele Cricket Stadium in Sri Lanka on Saturday.

Pakistan has decided to field the same playing XI against archrivals India that defeated Nepal in the opening match of the Asia Cup by a big margin.

The co-hosts of the regional event would go with three pacers, two spin-bowling all-rounders, and two batting all-rounders, said the national cricket board wrote on social media. Babar Azam would lead the side.

The Indian side is playing their opening match of the tournament against Pakistan while the green team has played one match against Nepal and won it by 238 runs in Multan on August 30.

The national side entered the Asia Cup 2023 as the number-one team in the ODI ranking of the International Cricket Council.
