Asif Ali Zardari disappears from scene as flood woes increase in Sindh
Asif Ali Zardari disappeared from the scene since flash floods submerged several parts of Sindh including his own constituency in Nawabshah.
Former president, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman and the sitting parliamentarian, Asif Ali Zardari has disappeared from the scene since flash floods submerged several parts of Sindh including his own National Assembly (NA) constituency in Nawabshah also known as Shaheed Benazirabad.
Asif Ali Zardari has fully disappeared from the scene after flood woes increased in Sindh which is the most affected province of Pakistan. The top leaders of the ruling political party of Sindh, Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the former president found nowhere while the foreign minister is busy paying foreign visits.
Zardari is known as one of the most active politicians in Pakistan, however, he went missing from the public appearance during flood disasters, even from his own constituency and ancestral area in Nawabshah.
According to media reports, Zardari went to Dubai after contracting COVID-19 and later he returned to Lahore after recovering health, however, he did not return to flood-hit Sindh whose 60 per cent of areas are submerged in flood water.
After the flood strikes Sindh, Zardari had just given a message to show a wish for serving the flood victims if his health allows him to do so, however, no one knows his whereabouts so far.
According to the PDMA, six more people lost their lives due to floods within 24 hours, whereas, the death toll in Sindh reached over 700 from June 20 to September 21 and more than 8,500 people were injured. Moreover, water-borne diseases and food shortages have also wreaked havoc in the flood-hit areas across Pakistan.
