Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley has announced their tour to Pakistan next year in March after 24 years.

He took to twitter and said: “Cricket Australia is excited about the prospect of touring Pakistan next year for what will be a highly anticipated series in a country so incredibly passionate about the game and their national team.”

Cricket pundits are seeing this development in the backdrop of Pakistan teams’ world class performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup. The Greenshirts have sealed top position in the mega event’s Group II. They will play against Australia in the semi-final.

Australian will play three tests, as many ODIs and one T20 match during the next years’ tour of Pakistan.

Last month, first New Zealand called off Pakistan tour citing security threats and later England followed the suit.

When investigated, it was revealed that a threatening email that prompted Kiwis to call off the Pakistan tour was sent from Mumbai.

After cancellation of tours by New Zealand and England Pakistan remained calm and focused on its cricket.

Pakistan had been unbeaten so far in the ongoing T20 World Cup.
