General hospital staff in Lahore removed the kidney of a boy called Bilal without his knowledge.
Bilal, a 20-year-old boy, hailing from the Kahina area in Lahore, was lured into promises of employment as a driver at the General hospital where his kidney was stolen.
However, his kidney was removed after making him unconscious soon after he reached the hospital.
A case was registered with the police at Bilal’s father’s request.
According to the FIR, the incident took place on September 19, 2020, while the case was registered three months later on December 16, 2020.
The FIR was registered against driver Nazir, his brother, and an unidentified woman working at the General Hospital, police said. The complainant alleged that the accused took Bilal’s blood sample and a few days later removed his kidney.

Principal General Hospital Faridul Zafar commenting on the incident said that action would be taken against anyone involved in the incident. The staff of the healthcare facility was involved in kidney smuggling.
Police said blood samples were taken from Bilal for the job. A few days later, he was made unconscious and had his kidney removed.
According to Operations SSP Ahsan Saif, all aspects of the incident are being investigated while teams have been formed to arrest the suspects. The real facts will come to light after the arrest, he added.
Earlier, a similar case had come up where renowned comedian Umar Sharif’s daughter, Hira Sharif, died from serious complications after her alleged illegal kidney transplant at the same hospital.
The family accused that Hira died due to her illegal kidney transplant carried out by Dr. Fawad at Lahore General Hospital.
