Bill Clinton Ex-President of USA Hospitalized in California

Former President Bill Clinton was hospitalized for a non-COVID related issue in Southern California, spokesman Angel Ureña said in a statement Thursday.

Bill Clinton is struggling with an infection, but is “on the mend” and “in a good mood,” said Ureña. Currently, He is undergoing treatment at the University of California’s Irvine Medical Center.

Ureña added that Clinton is “grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff who provided excellent care”. The US 42nd President’s spokesman added the following joint statement from the medical center:

President Bill Clinton was moved to UC Irvine Medical Center and diagnosed with an infection, hospitalized for close monitoring and administration of antibiotics and intravenous fluids. remains in the hospital for continuous monitoring. After two days of treatment, his white blood cell count drops and he responds well to antibiotics.

In the years since Clinton left the White House in 2001, the former president has had health problems. In 2004, he underwent quadruple bypass surgery after experiencing persistent chest pain and shortness of breath. A pair of coronary artery stents were implanted in his lungs in 2005 and 2010.

Responded on a predominantly vegan diet where he lost weight and reported better health.

He returned repeatedly to the stump during his failed presidential nomination bid in 2008, campaigning for Democratic candidates, mostly his wife Hillary. And in 2016, when his wife ran for the White House as a Democratic candidate, Clinton – by then grandfather and around 70 – he returned to campaigning.

The UCI Medical Center is located in Orange County, approximately 40 miles southeast of Los Angeles. It wasn’t immediately clear why Clinton was in Southern California.
