Can Chaudhary Nisar Be The Next Punjab CM?
Nisar has since not taken oath as an MPA after winning general elections as an independent candidate in 2018
After formalization of Jahangir Tareen group in Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), anti-Buzdar sentiments in Punjab have paced up and News360 learned that ex-PML-N leader Chaudhary Nisar is next strong candidate for chief minister (CM) of the province.
According to News360 sources, PTI’s Jahangir Tareen Group, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League Quaid-e-Azam (PML-Q), and a faction of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) are jelling up to complete the task of making Chaudhary Nisar new CM of Punjab.

Notably, Nisar has since not taken oath as an MPA after winning general elections as an independent candidate in 2018.
He had contested on four seats including two each of the national assembly and Punjab assembly.
Nisar had lost on NA-59, NA-63, and PP-12 but he won in PP-10 constituency.
He is likely to take oath on May 24 in the assembly proceedings to start today and his presence will not be meaningless, sources told.
It added that approval of the upcoming budget would be a ‘gigantic task’ for the Buzdar government.
Chaudhary Nisar had served as the interior minister from 2013 to 2017 in the PML-N government.
However, his connections with PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif have seen rough patches over the years while he is considered closer to the party’s President Shahbaz Sharif.
The release of Shahbaz has acted as a catalyst and it was after this development that anti-Buzdar sentiment has spurred and a no-confidence motion against him is on the cards.
