China Restricts Online Gaming in Children to 3hrs a Week

With globally booming gaming industry and the increasing screen time among kids, China has come up with a restriction on online gaming for children.

China’s National Press and Publication Administration released a notice that has restricted the companies to reduce gaming time to 3 hours a week.

The children will have access to the online games from 8 pm to 9 pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The decision has been taken keeping in view both mental and physical health of the minors.

With the day by day increasing online gaming time, the authorities were alerted with worsening myopia cases in children.

With the new restrictions, the users will have to log in through a real-name account and must go through an ID verification system.

Meanwhile, the gaming time for adults will remain 24/7.
