After a historic victory in recent by-polls, journalists critic of PTI said that there are chances for Imran Khan to become the next PM.

After Imran Khan’s historic victory on six NA seats in recent by-polls, journalists critic of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) expressed thoughts that there are chances for Imran Khan to become the next prime minister.

Citing his popularity amongst the masses, several journalists critic of PTI discussed chances for Imran Khan to be the next PM if general elections are organised in the country.

Senior journalist and anchorperson Mohammad Malick said on Twitter, “IK’s extremely bold tactic of contesting on 7 seats and transforming competing candidates into small game by contrast has paid off indeed. Question is, will his success on 6 (unofficial results) give him greater leverage in talks with powers that be?”

Matiullah Jan tweeted, “The intelligentsia ought to respect the will of the people without having to agree with it. It must keep on acting as a warning light of dangers ahead for the society and its judgement must not be impaired by the fact of a majority vote.”

Mariana Baabar was of the view, “@ImranKhanPTI showing Pakistanis that you cam win without support from establishment. Will this mode carry on till general elections and will the new Chief also play neutral? @javeednusrat could respond?”

Responding to her tweet, senior journalist Nusrat Javed said, “Dear @MarianaBaabar why you always put complicated questions to poor me? Safest answer is that since 1970 THEY can’t act absolutely indifferent when it comes to GENERAL ELECTIONS. Default mode of the SYSTEM rather.”

Cyril Almeida wrote on Twitter, “IK’s 7 has eclipsed ZAB, PTI can sweep past Nawaz’s heavy mandate of ’97…”

Another renowned journalist Mohammad Taqi gave his opinion, “Imran Khan is relentless, energetic & hones in on his message, no matter how awful it is. He has perfected the craft of populism to a tee. His opponents, in both army & PDM, are clueless about how to counter the IK juggernaut #Pakistan #ByElection2022”
