CJP Gulzar says no one dares interfere with my work
Rubbishes allegation of judiciary being under pressure.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed has said that no one ever dared to make me to give decision in his favour. Neither I take pressure of any institution, nor issue any decision on the directive of any individual or department.
The Chief Justice said that no one had interfered in his work and added that he gave decisions as per the Constitution and law.
He made these remarks while responding to the criticism on judiciary made by senior lawyer Ali Ahmed Kurd during a ceremony of Asma Jehangir Foundation in Lahore.

The Chief Justice said: “Tell me what decision was made on someone’s dictation?” Do not create misunderstandings among people, do not try to shake the people’s trust in institutions. No one has ever dared to stop us. It is wrong to say that the courts are not independent.
The Chief Justice further said: “If Kurd sahib had talked about my court, then I would not endorse his remarks.” It is wrong to issue a general statement that judiciary is not right, he added.
While addressing to Ali Ahmed Kurdish, the Chief Justice said:” My courts are providing justice. Judiciary is issuing verdicts independently.”
Earlier, Ali Ahmed Kurd, the former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association in his address said that which judiciary is present in the country. Is it the judiciary from where people from 8am to 2.30pm go home carrying wounds?
Will this judiciary protect human rights and protect democratic institutions? he questioned.
