Controversial Muhammad Amir Goodbyes International Cricket

Muhammad Amir expressed disgruntlement with the current team management and said that he was being mentally tortured

Pakistani pacer Muhammad Amir has surprisingly announced retirement from international cricket on the pretext of mental torture.

In a video, Amir claimed that he is being mentally tortured by the current management of the Pakistan cricket team and he was unable to continue playing for the national team despite his wish.

The left-arm pacer criticized that he was being sidelined by the current management and that is why he was not selected for New Zealand Tour.

He thanked former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Najam Sethi and ex-Capitan Shahid Afridi for supporting him throughout.

He recalled that he had already seen a lot of torture during his five-year ban from international cricket due to spot-fixing scandal.

PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan confirmed Amir’s retirement from international cricket.

The pacer had previously announced retirement from Test cricket and now he has said goodbye to all formats on being mentally tortured by the current management.

He had received criticism from the former cricketers who were dismayed on Amir’s retirement from test cricket only at the age of 27.

The pacer took 81 wickets in 61 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and 59 wickets in 50 T20Is.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Amir made his comeback in the national team in 2016 against New Zealand after serving a five-year ban.

Now, he has bade adieu to international cricket when Pakistan is in New Zealand again to play T20Is and test matches.

Further, PCB had invested heavily in terms of time and efforts to make the return of the convicted pacer in the national team possible.

The left-arm pacer has taken the course like many other cricketers of the Pakistani cricket team did and then returned to international cricket after a redressal of complaints and issues.
