Elahi moved to Islamabad after taken ill at Attock prison

Former Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi was suddenly taken ill at Attock Jail and moved to Islamabad on Monday.
A heavy contingent of police set off with Elahi towards Islamabad at noon. He will be treated at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.
The former chief minister has been held at the District Jail Attock since Friday when he was rearrested from Lahore.
Elahi was released by the Lahore High Court after a three-month incarceration on September 1. The court ordered that he should not be arrested in any other case.
However, plain-clothed men dragged away the veteran politician as soon as he left the LHC building. It was later revealed that he was in the custody of the Islamabad Police.
Authorities said he had been arrested under the MPO and confined for 15 days. However, he was taken to Atoock instead of Adiala jail where former Prime Minister Imran Khan is also incarcerated.
