The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz has voiced its concerns over delimitations of the constituencies for the general election 2024 and announced that it would challenge the delimitations before the Election Commission of Pakistan.
The announcement, which may prove a precursor to the delay in general elections, came at a press conference by PMLN leader Khawaja Saad Rafique in Lahore.
It follows reports that at least three petitions have been seeking postponement of the general election on account of bad weather in winter and the law and order situation in certain parts of the country. At the press conference, Rafique said PMLN was not satisfied with the delimitation.
However, he also said that the party would field its best candidates in the general election.
Saad Rafique said that claims about the absence of a level playing field in the election were ‘bizarre.’
