Fawad Chaudhry transferred to jail on judicial remand

The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad has rejected the plea for further physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Hussain Chaudhry.

Judicial Magistrate Waqas Ahmed Raja heard the case in Islamabad. The local court adjourned the hearing by ordering Fawad Chaudhry to appear at 11:30 in the case of threatening the Election Commission.

Fawad Chaudhry’s lawyer Babar Awan, Faisal Chaudhry and Fawad Chaudhry’s wife Haba Chaudhry reached the court, besides PTI leader Khurram Nawaz and Senator Shahzad Wasim also appeared in the court.

When the hearing started, Babar Awan spoke to the Judicial Magistrate Waqas Ahmad Raja and said that if the hearing of the case should be a little early, on which the judge said that Fawad Chaudhry would keep 11:30 for the case.

The judicial magistrate directed Fawad Chaudhry to appear in the court at 11:30 and ordered the investigating officer to get Fawad Chaudhry’s medical and submit a report.

Fawad Chaudhry was produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate Waqas Raja on completion of physical remand.

During the hearing, Fawad Chaudhry’s lawyer Babar Awan took a stand that the prosecution did not actually request for physical remand, judicial remand is also called remand.

In the hearing, the honorable judge asked Fawad Chaudhry that a cloth was not put over your face today, right?

In response, Fawad Chaudhry said that today cloth was not put on my face, I could not sleep for more than two and a half hours in 6 days, I was made to sit on the back of the car in the cold.

After hearing the arguments of the parties, the court rejected the request of the police for further physical remand and sent Fawad Chaudhry to jail on judicial remand.

Speaking to the media outside the court, Haba Chaudhry said that Fawad Chaudhry is a former federal minister, he was elected by millions of people. Yes, do as much injustice as you have to do.
