FIA Arrests Women, Her Partner For Running Porn Site From Karachi

WEB DESK: Pakistan is one of the leading countries in accessing pornographic sites, which is a reflection of the widespread sexual deprivation among the people, however, all pornographic sites accessed are being operated outside Pakistan. Even though the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has strictly banned nudity content, however porn lovers do not pay heed to any kind of ban and access these porn sites through various proxies.

Nowadays, several videos can be found on different porn sites, which have been filmed and uploaded from Pakistan.  however, there have been no reports of organized porn sites being run from inside the country, but today the FIA ​​has nabbed a group operating from Karachi under the name “Porn App”.

According to The News International, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Saturday identified a large network operating an international pornographic website from Karachi, arresting one suspect and booking others in connection with the case.

The FIA Cyber Crime Wing told that the group used women to record sexually explicit videos for international clients through a mobile app. These women were then paid in ‘diamond’ ( a form of virtual currency) for sexually explicit video calls with their clients.

The more diamonds a woman received, the more she would be paid by the network, disclosed the FIA. Some of the women — besides the video calls — were forced to do immoral acts by the network as well, revealed the investigative agency.

The network using these women used to issue advertisements in newspapers in which women were offered salaries of up to Rs40,000 per month to work from home, revealed the FIA.

Disclosing further details about the group, the FIA said that the network has 35 members across Pakistan. The women who were involved in the immoral video calls, were paid Rs7,000 after they collected 400,000 diamonds.

A woman named Ramsha has been identified by the FIA as the owner of the app and a man named Fazal Qadir is her partner, said the FIA. Qadir was arrested from an apartment in Gulistan-e-Iqbal — where he used to run an office that operated a porn website — after a woman complained to the agency about the group.

Nine mobile phones and laptops as well as other electronic items were seized during the raid.  Data about various women and pornographic videos were obtained from the electronic devices that were seized during the raid.

FIA has registered a case against the app’s owner, Ramsha, and three other persons. Raids are being conducted to arrest two other women nominated in the case.

Access to pornographic sites has generally been connected to Pakistani men, but this time the news of Pakistani women being involved and running pornographic site has shocked and given a new twist to the debate.
