Finance minister assured IMF to fulfill all conditions
Ishaq Dar said we have successfully completed IMF program in past and government is determined to complete current programme.
Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar today met the IMF review delegation headed by Mr. Nathan Porter, IMF Mission Chief, at the Finance Division.
IMF Representative in Pakistan Ms. Esther Perez Ruiz, Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Dr. Aisha Ghos Pasha, SAPM for Finance Mr. Tariq Bajwa, SAPM on Revenue Mr. Tariq Mehmood Pasha, Governor State Bank of Pakistan Mr. Jameel Ahmed, Finance Secretary, Chairman FBR, IMF delegation members and senior officers of Finance Division attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed Pakistan’s economic, and fiscal policies and reform agenda to meet the ninth review under the Extended Fund Facility.

Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar welcomed the delegation and expressed the long-standing friendly relationship with the IMF.
Finance Minister Ishaq Dar described the mission of the IMF as financial and economic reforms, steps taken by the government in various sectors including reduction of fiscal deficit, stabilization of dollar exchange rate, and improvement of the economy in the energy sector. Informed about the steps to be taken.
Ishaq Dar said that reforms are being carried out in the power sector and a high-level committee has been formed to reduce the revolving debt and devise mechanisms in the gas sector.

The Finance Minister also thanked the Managing Director of the IMF for continuing the dialogue and said that as the Finance Minister, he had successfully completed the IMF program in the past and the government was committed to completing the current program.
They assured the IMF mission of their full support and pledged to work together to complete the 9th Review under the Expanded Fund Facility (EFF).
On this occasion, IMF Mission Chief Nathan Porter said that it is hoped that the government of Pakistan will meet the conditions for the completion of the ninth review, and it is expected that Pakistan will continue to make progress for reforms in various sectors.
Nathan Porter further said that it is hoped that the program will be completed effectively within the stipulated time, and will work together with Pakistan for financial reforms.
