Asif Hussain Shah, a Pakistani taxi driver who works day and night in harsh weather to earn a living, amazed the nation with his writing skills when wrote short stories and published them in form of a book named ‘For Hire’ that has 98% likeness rating on Google.
For Hire is an Urdu language book that is based on the author’s daily experiences with passengers and their thoughts while driving the cab in twin cities.
Asif is the first taxi driver in Pakistan who showed his writing talent and got his book published.
Belonging to a family that suffered a lot due to worst economic conditions, Asif bid farewell to his studies long ago and started earning as a water-boring machine maker.

However, a few years later, he left his profession and started driving a cab in Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
After driving for many years, the idea of writing a book sprung in Asif’s mind and he started narrating the experiences he had with the passengers.
“I thought why not write these short stories in simple Urdu and I started the project”, he told the media.
In an effort to market his book, Asif Hussain started the promotion on his cab.
His cab is a moving billboard for the publicity of the 116-page-book.
The painted ad of For Hire made several people searched the book on Google and hence it became famous.
