Fraud Alert: Imtiaz Supermarket Under-Measuring Goods
The video shows that customers are being overcharged inverse of what has been labeled on the packets of fruits and vegetables

A video has been circulating on social media, where consumers are asking to be beware of under-measuring fraud practiced by the giant retail chain Imtiaz Supermarket.
With the arrival of the holy month of Ramzan, people get their groceries done from either supermarkets or nearby retail outlets. Sadly, it seems that many reputable retail giants are getting involved in manipulation to earn exorbitant profits.
Over the years, Imtiaz Supermarket has gained consumers’ trust by delivering quality and service. However, it seems to swerve from the course.
In the video, it could be seen that some customers are complaining about overcharging and selling inverse of what has been mentioned on the weight labels of packets of fruit and vegetable.
One of the customers questioned the store’s staff and said that the labeled weight of packed green chilies was different from the weight displayed on his machine.

The agitated customer requested everyone to weigh every item before they exit the store, as they are committing fraud by labeling something else and making illicit profits.
In the same video, another customer explained fraud by Imtiaz Supermarket where he was charged twice for his bill but he was asked to contact customer care services to fix the error.
The customer quickly glanced at the staff adding, “There was no check and balance on the imprinted weight on vegetables and fruits, but after objecting, they are measuring everything again.”
The loyalty card customer showed that the weight of melon was 3 kilograms as labeled by Imtiaz, however, when weighed again, the machine showed 2.5 kilograms.
In response to it, Imtiaz staff members said that all the errors in measurements were due to technical problems which would be resolved at the earliest.
