This Public School in Karachi Has Long Queues For Admissions

Parents were waiting outside the government school to get admission forms so their children could obtain quality education, free of cost

Queuing of parents outside posh and private schools in Pakistan is a normal sight, however, parents lined-up outside a government school under supervision of singer and social activist Shehzad Roy is something exceptional.

The Sali To Mani Nahi singer shared a post on social media with a video showing a long queue of parents outside SMB Fatima Jinnah Government School adopted by Zindagi Trust, a welfare organization set up by Shehzad.

The parents were waiting outside the government school to obtain admission forms so their children could get quality education, free of cost.

Unfortunately, the government schools in Pakistan are in substandard conditions with low-quality means of education and poor infrastructure.

In 2017, Zindagi Trust adopted the school in a strive to improve the quality of education available to underprivileged children.

Nearly after four years, the school turned out to be the one providing standard education and parents are willing to get their children enrolled there.

“I wish more govt schools can be turned around in Pakistan”, the singer maintained.

Shehzad Roy further announced that the school has limited seats and is unable to accommodate a huge strength in the building right now.

Zindagi Trust also pioneered the concept of I-am-paid-to-learn that offers working children a facility to learn.

The video shared by the singer garnered several encouraging comments and the fans sang praises for Shehzad Roy.
