Govt should get cypher copies from Hamid Mir, Najam Sethi: analysts
A sub-committee of the federal cabinet has set up an inquiry committee on the disappearance of the cypher to investigate how the diplomatic cable was lost and who has it.
On March 7, 2022, Cipher arrived in Pakistan and on March 8, there was a no-confidence motion against former Prime Minister Imran Khan, and on March 9, 2022, after the success of the no-trust move, Imran Khan’s government was dismissed, but now it is said that cypher is missing from the PM House although the cypher was discussed in detail in the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting chaired by PM Shehbaz Sharif on September 30.
Yesterday, in the PTI public meeting in Taxila, Chairman PTI Imran Khan spoke openly about the cypher and its disappearance.
Imran Khan said that the cypher was not lost from the Prime Minister’s House, as Maryam Nawaz claims in her speeches. He said that the master copy of the cypher is available in the Foreign Office.
The PTI Chairman said that he took the cypher to the meeting of the National Security Committee (NSC), it was sent to the National Assembly, and the Speaker sent a copy to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to form an inquiry commission on it.
The PTI chief said, “I want to thank Shehbaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz for reviving the cypher.” It is being pretended that the cypher is lost, the cypher is not lost, its master copy is in the Foreign Office.”
The government said the cypher is missing from the official documents of the Prime Minister’s House.
A sub-committee of the federal cabinet has set up an inquiry committee on the disappearance of the cypher to investigate how the diplomatic cable was lost and who has it.
Analysts said that Najam Sethi and Hamid Mir are saying that they have the letter or cypher that Imran Khan is referring to. They said the government could also summon the cypher from Mir and Sethi too.
‘If Hamid Mir and Najam Sethi have it, it can also mean that all the senior anchorpersons and journalists have the cypher copies. If anyone does not have the cypher, then it is the government,’ added analysts.
