Hammad Azhar announces reduction in power tariff for winter
Says govt has reduced power rate for domestic consumers by 11.37pc per unit.
Federal Minister for Energy Hammad Azhar has announced a reduction in the tariff of electricity during the winter season. He said that the government will reduce the electricity tariff for the period from November to February.
While sharing the message on the social networking site twitter, Federal Minister Hammad Azhar wrote: “The government has reduced the power rate for domestic consumers by 11.37 per cent per unit while the same for commercial consumers has decreased by 11.98 per cent.”

Hammad Azhar has further written that the government has taken this step to reduce the use of gas in the winter season. He said that electricity tariff will be charged Rs7.94 per unit from domestic consumers

The federal minister said that the off-peak rate in Karachi is Rs16.33 per unit while the peak rate is Rs22.95. The government has reduced electricity prices for winter.
