Hassan Nisar’s demand for ‘15-year fascist govt’ draws wide criticism

He suggested sending pro-democracy people to the firing squad and their families must pay expense of each bullet.

ISLAMABAD: Political analyst and columnist Hassan Nisar has faced severe criticism for giving opinion to give powers to a fascist government for the next 15 years and pro-democracy should be dealt by a firing squad.

Hassan Nisar, while being interviewed by Samaa TV anchorperson Paras Jahanzaib, made the shocking statement in which said that the country needed an uninterrupted 15 years of fascism.

In the video clip being shared on Twitter, he suggested sending those taking the name of democracy to the firing squad and the expense of each bullet should be recovered from their families.

Nisar added that it is our national duty to give 15 more years to Imran Khan.

Asad Ali Toor censured Nisar’s statement, saying that will he be sent off air by the Geo News administration following the remarks against the governance system and hurling abuses to the ‘will of the people’.

He also slammed the Geo News administration for showing a lack of tolerance for Hamid Mir over criticising some personalities following their unconstitutional steps.

The video was also shared by Geo News reporter Murtaza Ali Shah on Twitter.

Commenting on the video, Tooba Syed said that the nationals needed to get rid of these senior analysts and journalists.

Sadaf Khan reacted to the video clip and said, “If there was ever an argument for taking someone off air for hate speech and incitement to violence, this is it. @reportpemra this man, advocating openly for the shooting of citizens should not be allowed to keep spewing hate without consequences.”

Nida Kirmani wrote, “Hassan Nisar calls for people who support democracy to be placed in front of a firing squad & for their loved ones to pay for the bullets, & that is perfectly ok. Meanwhile, Ali Wazir was critical of the state’s policies in one of his speeches & has been in jail for over a year.”

Ammar Ali Jan said, “Its incredible how people like Hassan Nisar present dictatorship as an idea that has not been tested in Pakistan. Demanding more cruelty and violence from an already cruel and violent state is sheer madness. Unfortunately, madness sells in the land of the pure.”
