Martin Guptill's match-winning knock, Quetta Gladiators beat Karachi Kings

In the 22nd match of PSL 8, Quetta Gladiators defeated Karachi Kings by 4 wickets thanks to Martin Guptill’s brilliant innings.

Quetta Gladiators achieved the target of 165 runs with one ball to spare.

In the match played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Ground, Quetta’s captain Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and decided to field. Karachi Kings did not start well and Naseem Shah caught Matthew Wade behind the wickets on the very first ball of the innings. Tayyab Tahir and Qasim Akram also got out after scoring 7 and 8 runs respectively.

Experienced middle-order batsman Shoaib Malik was also the guest of 13 runs while wicketkeeper-batsman Adam Rossington played an inning of 69 runs, Imad Wasim scored 30 runs and Aamir Yameen remained not out with 23 runs.

Karachi Kings scored 164 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs while Naseem Shah and Amil Khan dismissed two players each from Quetta.

Quetta Gladiators achieved the target of 165 runs given by Karachi Kings at the loss of 6 wickets in the last over, Martin Guptill remained unbeaten by scoring 86 runs off 56 balls with the help of 4 sixes and 9 fours.

Captain Sarfraz Ahmed also played a responsible inning of 29 runs, while Mohammad Nawaz was out by scoring 15 runs. Martin Guptill was declared the best player of the match.
